A 15-key Elgato Stream Deck often costs $150+. VirtualDeck runs on the PC you already have — free core app, optional $25 AI license for unlimited buttons.
Feature list reflects the open-source VirtualDeck app today — soundboard, Twitch, overlays, and Meld Studio integration.
Create buttons for audio clips, app launches, multi-media payloads, and Meld Studio scene switches on a responsive grid with optional global hotkeys.
Assign F1–F12 and number-row keys that work even when VirtualDeck is not focused — click a card or press the hotkey for instant playback.
Connect Twitch chat, map chat commands and channel point redemptions to buttons, and react to follows, subs, and raids via EventSub.
First-chat walk-on alerts and customizable on-stream alerts (including Streamlabs-style motion) with images, text, and sounds.
Built-in HTTP and WebSocket server serves overlay pages for OBS (and similar tools). Dashboard preview stays muted so audio plays only on stream.
Add Meld Scene buttons that list scenes from Meld Studio and switch scenes over the local WebChannel API while you stream.
Create Twitch clips from the app (Helix API) and use channel-point progression features such as daily check-in messages.
Per-profile settings and custom skins/themes so your deck matches your stream brand.
The one-time AI License (launching with $25) unlocks the in-app AI voice assistant with your own API key, plus unlimited deck buttons.

Hardware Stream Decks are great — but for many streamers, a $0–$25 software deck on your existing PC covers sound effects, scenes, and alerts for far less than a new controller.

Quick answers before you install.
VirtualDeck is distributed as a signed-ish indie Electron build from GitHub Releases. SmartScreen often flags new or rarely downloaded executables until they build reputation. Download only from the official jontslater/virtualdeck releases page, verify the version matches this site, and choose “More info” → “Run anyway” if you trust the publisher. The app is open source for inspection.
The AI voice assistant calls your chosen provider using an API key you enter in the app. VirtualDeck does not resell AI tokens — you pay your provider directly and control spend, models, and rotation.
See our Refund Policy. In short: digital license sales are generally non-refundable once activated, but contact support if something went wrong with checkout.
Windows 10 or later (64-bit), an audio output device, and a keyboard for hotkeys. You will also want free disk space for the app, your sound library, and overlay assets. OBS or Meld Studio are optional but supported for overlays and scene switching.
Installers target Windows today. The project is Electron-based; other platforms may be explored later, but this site only offers the Windows build.
Public launch target: November 2, 2026 (latest). This button always points at the newest GitHub Release installer.
